Kenyatta University Teaching, Referral and Research Hospital (KUTRRH) hosts a robust Directorate of Research, Innovation and Entrepreneurship. The Directorate houses the departments of Research and Clinical Trials as well as ICT and Innovation. The essence of the Directorate is to find solutions to unmet medical needs, improve wellness, alleviate human suffering and transform healthcare services.

The core mandates of the Directorate are:

  • To establish state-of-the-art systems of medical research, innovations and entrepreneurship in the Hospital, providing ethical, patient-centred, evidence-based practice.
  • To facilitate the incubation, acceleration and translation of novel ideas and solutions to meet the healthcare needs of the society.
  • To implement ICT infrastructure, systems, services, policies and standards to buttress patient-centred, evidence-based practice and harness emerging digital trends in data analytics, artificial intelligence and bioinformatics.
  • To foster networks and mutual collaborations in the advancement of cutting-edge medical discoveries.
